On Saturday, March 10, hundreds of residents, community partners and city officials joined the Annie E. Casey Foundation for an inspiring groundbreaking ceremony for Pittsburgh Yards, the 31-acre site the Foundation owns in southwest Atlanta.
Highlights included stories and testimonials from residents and partners ― told onstage and in various forms of interviews ― about their excitement and hopes for the site’s future and the impact it could have in NPU-V. There were also multiple great performances, including the debut of an original poem about Atlanta by the legendary author Pearl Cleage. #PittsburghYards was the top trending hashtag on Twitter at one point that afternoon.
