The Aerotropolis Alliance is proud to recognize the Jasber Group of companies as it’s Small Business of the Month the Jasber Group is a conservation, preservation and revitalization company with three subsidiaries – Jasber Utility Services, Jasber Management Services and Jasber Plaza in Forest Park. Co-founder Steve Bernard also created Yo-Jay’s, a frozen yogurt franchise when he discovered that existing franchises were reluctant to locate on the south side of Atlanta.

“We began by developing retail space in Forest Park, and I tried to get some existing franchises to locate in our space,” Bernard said. “Once I discovered they weren’t interested, I thought, ‘OK, we’ll found our own franchise,’ and that’s how we came up with Yo-Jay’s.”

“The Aerotropolis region is not only growing with new developments, but also revitalizing  existing and historic properties, and it hasn’t always been easy,” said Shannon James, Sr. Executive Director of the Aerotropolis Alliance. “Steve Bernard and started when it was tough, but literally refused to fail. We’re proud to recognize the Jasber group for their refusal to give up on this region, and for creating success out of thin air and diligence at Jasber Plaza.”

Bernard said that Yo-Jay’s will have seven locations, all in the Aerotropolis footprint.

“We want to be here, on the south side, in the Aerotropolis, first,” Bernard said.

“We are so proud to have the Jasber Group located in Clayton County, and their commitment to a consultative approach with all of their clients across all their lines of business demonstrates their commitment to this community,” said Jeremy Stratton, CEO of the Clayton Chamber of Commerce. “We are proud of the company, and proud to have nominated them.”

The Jasber Group provides utility sub-metering and property management services in addition to historic preservation. The sub-metering services allow multi-unit properties and homeowners’ associations the ability to assign individual utility costs to individual homeowners, tenants or commercial clients.

Because of their award, The Jasber Group qualifies as a finalist for The Aerotropolis Alliance’s Small Business of the Year Award, to be announced at the State of the Aerotropolis Breakfast in December.
